Buxton Crescent is the first UK luxury hotel from Europe’s largest health spa operator Ensana. Located in the historic spa town of Buxton, the UK’s highest market town nestled within the rolling hills of Derbyshire in the Peak District. Following an extensive refurbishment of one of England’s most significant Georgian architectural buildings, Buxton Crescent is the first UK property from the Ensana Hotels brand, which is the custodian of European thermal spas utilising powerful natural resources.

Thanks to The Fifth Duke of Devonshire, who developed the town with grand architecture, the 19th-century was a golden age for Buxton when ‘taking the waters’ was a fashionable past time for notable high-society visitors and celebrities of the era. Hydro and thalassotherapy is at the forefront of Buxton Crescent’s spa offering allowing spa and hotel lovers to enjoy ‘taking the waters’.
The Buxton Crescent spa boasts three pools – the Thermal Pool, a fully refurbished Victorian pool boasting the unique feature of having Buxton mineral-rich water flowing into it, which is heated and left chemically untreated; a relaxation pool with an atmospheric dark ceiling pierced with shafts of light and an impressive indoor-outdoor rooftop pool which overlooks the historic town below. Treatments include a range of tailored massages such as Indian head massages and targeted body massages. Signature spa offerings include the Thermal Mud Pack, which uses mineral-rich mud sourced from Heviz in Hungary and the Co2 Infusion Mineral Bath which is filled with Buxton’s Thermal Water.
The spa is home to eight impressive treatment rooms many boasting original stained-glass windows and one of which has been custom-built for dual treatments. Launched in 2019, Ensana is the leading health spa brand in Europe.
