Brownie and The Bean

We’re all going to breathe a sigh of relief when the clock chimes midnight on 31st December 2020. It’s been one hell of a year for everyone with very little to look forward to. I’m a Suffolk girl and wanted to share a brand that has been slowly and surely built a loyal foodie following from commuters, foodies, brownie-lovers and many more. This Suffolk brand has gone from strength to strength since it launched in 2019.

Brownie and The Bean is the brainchild of husband and wife team Luke and Charlotte Giddings, who (between the pair of them) share a wealth of experience in the food industry. Luke is the baker and he has carefully crafted his secret family recipe to create the ultimate, indulgent, unforgettable brownie experience.

Charlotte is in charge of sales and marketing and is chief taster and tester! They both love brownies and they both love to travel.

Charlotte worked in London setting up social enterprises for one of the world's largest charities and Luke was former manager of The Fine Cheese Company's Belgravia restaurant. They moved to Suffolk and found their dream home in the region after appearing on TV's Escape to the Country. Five days later the dream fell through when they discovered the house was riddled with problems - giving them less than a week to find somewhere else to live.

Luck was on their side and they ended up in Redgrave where they began to realise their dream for Brownie and The Bean, opening the mobile brownie, coffee and cocktail bar mid 2019 in their converted rice van Beryl (RIP).

Lockdown has given them the opportunity to transform their business from a mobile brownie and cookie van at stations and markets, into a working from home mail order brownie company which now has an addicted, loyal customer base.
