Malibu Rocky Oaks is a large wine label in Malibu founded in 2003 by Howard Leight. The Estate and vineyard is spread across a 37-acre plot and the vineyard has become one of the most recognised and highly awarded in the Malibu region. His son Howard Leight Jr is now the CEO of the company which still has the same professional team in place as when it was started.
The unique position, Mediterranean microclimate and volcanic soil surrounding the estate has resulted in the sought after colour and aromas found only in these wines. Grown at 2,000 feet along the steep hillsides means the drainage is exceptional and the constant sun exposure results in perfect grape-ripening conditions, producing wines that because of new local government rules, can never be replicated by any other vineyard or estate.
